So much so, they're now meeting with writers to touch up a screenplay previously written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. The UFC-fighting lifestyle appears to follow Dalton to the Florida Keys, where he engages in several squabbles in the trailer, highlighted by a line from a character played by Daniela Melchior. It also features Arturo Castro, B.K. Cannon, Beau Knapp, Darren Barnet, Dominique Columbus and UFC fighter Conor McGregor in his first-ever film role. Directed by Douglas Liman, this Road House is a reimagining of the one in which late star Swayze played a hard-hitting bouncer responsible for laying down the law at a rowdy bar.

Roadhouse 2024 Release Date Trailer
The 1989 movie centered on James Dalton, a professional "cooler," or bouncer, at a bar in a small town in Missouri. The new iteration appears to up the ante and bring in more action. The new film also stars Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen, Jessica Williams, Joaquim de Almedia, Lukas Gage, Arturo Castro, B.K. Cannon, Beau Knapp and Darren Barnet, plus MMA fighter Conor McGregor in his first-ever movie role. Troubled former UFC middleweight fighter Elwood Dalton makes a living scamming fighters on the underground circuit. He is approached by Frankie, the owner of an unruly roadhouse in the Florida Keys community of Glass Key, who offers him a job as head bouncer. Initially hesitant, Dalton takes up the offer after narrowly averting a suicide attempt with a freight train that destroys his car.
Rest assured, we'll let you know the second a release date is made official. As noted in that Deadline report, this is not the first time MGM has tried to reboot "Road House" for modern audiences. In fact, the studio was eyeing a gender-swapped version of the film a few years back as a vehicle for Olympic medalist, MMA champion, and professional wrestler Ronda Rousey. That version of the film never really took shape, however, and the current iteration looks to be a more straightforward remake of the original. While the film is likely a long ways from heading before cameras, it seems MGM is hot to get the production off the ground.

Fleeing the sinking yacht, Brandt recaptures Ellie while Dalton commandeers Knox's boat. Catching up to Brandt, Dalton and Ellie leap off as Brandt is launched on top of the Road House. Frankie admits that Brandt has been buying up property to build an expensive resort, but she is the lone holdout. Dalton decides to leave town but discovers that Charlie and Stephen are in the hospital after Brandt's men burned down their bookstore. Enraged, Dalton kills one of the thugs responsible and captures a sheriff's deputy making a large delivery of Brandt's illicit cash, framing the deputy for the murder and taking the money.

There are scenes from The Boys, Fallout, Expats, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and many more shows. As Frankie and Stephen begin to rebuild, Charlie says goodbye to Dalton as he waits for his bus out of town. Stephen discovers Dalton has left them the trunk of cash as the bus pulls away.
What You Should Know, Road house is an upcoming american action film serving as a remake, or labeled as a reimagining, of the 1989 film of the same name. The original film was released in 1989, and proved a modest box office hit for Swayze (per Box Office Mojo). At present, there aren't many concrete details surrounding the "Road House" reboot, but a few juicy nuggets are being dangled about the project.
Gyllenhaal plays Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter who "takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems," per a synopsis. The actor, 43, stars in the first trailer for Road House, a "high-octane, adrenaline-filled reimagining" of the 1989 Patrick Swayze movie. The original film grossed a modest $30 million against a $15 million budget but has since become a cult classic and stands as one of Patrick Swayze’s most beloved roles. “Shrinking” star Jessica Williams, who confirmed to Variety last summer she’d be joining the cast, plays the roadhouse owner. Even before the latest remake chatter gathered pace, there was talk of a sequel with original co-writer Patricia scripting and Rashida Jones starring. But she’s stayed active behind the scenes on movies via her Echo Films company, and has now found something that could be big, if it works to the level of its inspiration.
